What are you up to G.W.?

Bush Evil eye

So with the Republicans about-face on the Offshore Drilling policy earlier this week, it leaves me wondering as to what the real reason is. After all this is a HUGE policy shift after years and years of being vehemently opposed to it. They continue to claim that it has nothing to do with the current oil economy, as it won’t really affect the price of gas at the pump. So why the big shift all of a sudden? What is the real reason behind this move? And why all of a sudden are we seeing different political moves with the Iranian government than in the past 20-30 years? Something must be going on… Read more »

Culinarily Sophisticated… Really?! Where?

colonblow_2.pngSo, I happened across this article the other day discussing Columbus’ restaurant scene and why this area happens to be the birthplace of quite a few popular national restaurant chains like Wendy’s, Max & Erma’s, Damon’s and White Castle. (not that these are at the top of everyone’s favorite list) Now having lived in Chicago for 7 years and previously in Dallas for a couple years, I can recognize and appreciate good food when I eat it. The article states that the Columbus area is “culinarily sophisticated” which is a reason why Read more »

I have seen it all now

alienproof.jpgApparently this Alien captured on a grainy black & white home video, likes to peep into this guy’s window to watch his teenage daughters undress. This is now supposedly proof that we are being visited by aliens regularly and the federal government needs to have an official committee to manage these alien visits.

CNN getting desperate?

11:27pm Friday, May 30th, 2008 by Rolande

cnntravel.jpgSo, I hit CNN to scan through the headlines and I see this under the Travel section. Is CNN really that desperate for a story? I think this is a new all-time low. This would be like hyping a vacation to North Platte, Nebraska. No offense to Nebraska, but that has got to be one of the most boring places in all of America! Flat…Desolate…Cows…Oil Pumps…and Wheat fields. Yippee! Let’s pack up the RV and hit that hot spot.

I could not let this “Political Parallel” go unmentioned…

9:41pm Sunday, May 4th, 2008 by Rolande

derbyfilly.jpgSo, although I am not a big horse racing fan and did not watch the Kentucky Derby the other day, I couldn’t help but overhear all the news reports about the filly Eight Belles breaking both front ankles and having to be euthanized on the track. What an extremely sad turn of events for a horse that had just come in second place in such a huge race.

What I couldn’t help thinking about was the sheer irony this situation has created. In case you weren’t aware, Hillary Clinton had stated she was backing Eight Belles as she was the first filly to run the Derby since 1999 as if to draw a seemingly dramatic parallel to her own political campaign of potentially being the first woman president.

So now that the horse came in second and was subsequently put down after breaking both ankles, what kind of appropriate parallel can we all draw from this?
