So, I happened across this article the other day discussing Columbus’ restaurant scene and why this area happens to be the birthplace of quite a few popular national restaurant chains like Wendy’s, Max & Erma’s, Damon’s and White Castle. (not that these are at the top of everyone’s favorite list) Now having lived in Chicago for 7 years and previously in Dallas for a couple years, I can recognize and appreciate good food when I eat it. The article states that the Columbus area is “culinarily sophisticated” which is a reason why Read more »

So, I hit CNN to scan through the headlines and I see this under the Travel section. Is CNN really that desperate for a story? I think this is a new all-time low. This would be like hyping a vacation to North Platte, Nebraska. No offense to Nebraska, but that has got to be one of the most boring places in all of America! Flat…Desolate…Cows…Oil Pumps…and Wheat fields. Yippee! Let’s pack up the RV and hit that hot spot.

Well, after 18 years and 8 high school and college hockey seasons and numerous Men’s league seasons with my old CCM Super Tacks, they are now officially retired. I finally got a new pair of badly needed skates as my old boots were really broken down and not offering much support and giving my left ankle a wicked case of lace bite.
So, I got a pair of the Nike Bauer Supreme One90’s. Quite expensive but I know they will last me just as long at the frequency and aggressiveness I skate now. Talk about a world of difference… They are probably half the weight of my old skates and they pretty much feel broken in already. I had them baked and profiled/sharpened. They fit like an absolute glove around the ankle and heel and the tongue is molded perfectly and is super comfortable.
I got to skate on them for an hour today and they were unbelievable compared to Read more »

It was such a crying shame to see the snot nosed celebutante get what was coming to her. I was amazed when she finally did have to go to jail but I was even more amazed that they let her out after 3 days. She thought she had pulled a fast one to cut her sentence short. Maybe now she will actually respect authority and think twice before she risks everyone else’s life by getting behind the wheel after drinking. I have no sympathy. Drunk driving is not an accident. It is a CRIME!

So, I just happened to skim through this article about how marketing companies are looking to partner with TV networks to alter the way advertisements are presented so that people can’t use the TiVo to fast forward past the ads. The ads will essentially become part of the TV program to fool the viewers into watching. Of course they make the reference to the Caveman ads from GEICO and how they are being made into a TV show.
The article was all serious and spelling doom for TV the way we know it, until I got to a quote from the Executive Vice President of NBC Universal’s Ad Sales. I did a double-take and just started cracking up. You just can’t make up good stuff like this…
