About Me

10:07pm Wednesday, July 6th, 2005 by Rolande

Welcome to my little space on the net! It is amazing that you even found me at all with all of the millions of other sites to visit out there. So, thanks for spending a minute to stop by and browse through.

Well, I am sure you are wondering, “Who is this guy, anyway?” My name is Scott Savage. I live in the northwest suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. I am married to my wife Kristi and we have two beautiful little girls named Olivia and Emma. I spent most of my childhood in a town called Peoria about 3 hours southwest of Chicago. I was born in Paris, France, while my Dad was an executive with Caterpillar overseas. Soon after, we moved to Geneva, Switzerland where we lived for about 4 years, until moving back to Peoria. I spent the rest of my childhood growing up in Peoria. During my last 2 years of college, I worked full-time for a local Internet Service Provider in Peoria to gain professional experience in the field of computer networking.

After graduating from Bradley University, I worked as a network consultant for a small firm in Plano, Texas. Upon deciding to return to Illinois, I became the Senior Network Administrator for Siemens Building Technologies in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago, overseeing the day to day operations of all their LAN and WAN facilities. For the past 4 years, Scott worked for ABN AMRO, a large international bank in Chicago, as a Senior Network Design Engineer handling projects dealing with corporate Internet connectivity, Extranet buildouts, e-commerce financial services infrastructure, and web content distribution and acceleration for the North American region. Scott accepted a new position with another even larger international bank here in Columbus about a year ago as a Senior Network Engineer working on global network strategy and architecture for content delivery, load balancing, remote access, and security. So we picked up the family and relocated to Ohio.

I passed the CCIE Routing & Switching Written Exam in the Fall of 2003. After a year and a half of non-stop intense studying I finally passed the 8 hour CCIE Routing & Switching Practical Lab Exam on May 5th 2005. I am now CCIE #14618. You can see my lab setup I used to study for the exam here.

I am the proud father of our 2 little girls Olivia Catherine, who recently turned 4 years oldĀ  in October, and Emma Elizabeth who turned 2 in August. Olivia makes us smile and laugh every single day…she is so dramatic and animated. We never have a dull moment when she is around.
